The Shibtala area where we are is usually pretty busy with people going to and from work. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a sturdy place where we can keep our equipment dry. We’ve had some of these grinding stones for years and they still work better than the newer ones sometimes. It takes a lot of patience to get the texture right. If you rush it, the heat ruins the flavor. We've learned that the hard way over the years. My father used to say that you have to listen to the machines to know if they are happy. It sounds silly but it's true. Most of our customers are from the immediate neighborhood and we like it that way because we can talk to them face to face. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want to find us, they just ask around in Aurangabad and someone will point them toward Dilip Spice Works. We try to keep the place organized, but with all the sacks coming in, it’s a constant battle against the clutter. Every evening we sweep up the floor, but by the next morning, there's a fresh layer of dust. It's just the nature of the work we do here. We spend our mornings checking the raw materials and our afternoons packing things up. There isn't much more to it than that. We just stay at it until the work is done.
