Yeshwant Dresses

Yeshwant Dresses is over on Kumthekar Road in Sadashiv Peth. If you know Pune, you know that this road is one of the most famous places for shopping, especially for traditional stuff. We are at number 768. The area is very traditional and has a certain old-world charm to it. Sadashiv Peth is known for its narrow lanes and its very specific culture. We have been running this shop here for many years. It is a family-style environment. The shop is filled with racks of dresses and fabrics. We don’t have a fancy interior designer; we just put things where they fit. In the mornings, we do a small puja and then get to work. Customers start trickling in after 11:00 AM. Kumthekar Road gets incredibly busy in the evenings and during the festival seasons. It can be hard to even walk on the sidewalk. We spend our time showing different pieces to people and helping them find the right size. It is a lot of talking and a lot of folding clothes back up after someone has looked at them. The staff has been with us for a long time, so we are like a small family. We have our lunch in the back room and share our food. It is just a normal, busy shop in a very famous part of the city. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big festival coming up, just to make sure the stock is ready for the rush.
