I’ve been working as a real estate agent here in Kothrud for a long time now. My office is in Ram Tirtha Apartment, which is right next to the Kinara Hotel at Delmia Circle. It’s a small space, just enough for a desk, a couple of chairs for clients, and a lot of metal files. Most of my day is spent out on my scooter, showing people flats or shops around this area. Kothrud has grown so much lately, so there’s always something new being built or an old building being torn down. I know most of the landlords around here. We usually meet for coffee at the hotel next door to discuss deals. I don't use any fancy apps or software to track things; I just keep everything written down in my notebook. People come to me because they know I’m local and I won't give them a hard time. Sometimes a deal falls through at the last minute because of some bank issue, which is frustrating, but that’s just the way this business goes. The office can get a bit stuffy in the summer, so I usually keep the door wide open. You can hear the traffic from the circle all day. It’s not a quiet job at all. I handle rentals mostly, but sometimes I help people buy or sell their old family homes. I try to be honest about the problems a place might have, like bad plumbing or noisy neighbors from the floor above.
