Our place, Shreechem Enterprises, is at 1376 Shukrawar Peth. We are very close to the Raja Kelkar Museum, which is a major spot in this part of town. The streets here are narrow and often full of two-wheelers and pedestrians. We deal in various chemical products and industrial supplies. The shop has been in the family for a long time. It’s an old structure with high ceilings and wooden beams. We don’t have any modern air conditioning or fancy glass fronts. It’s just a solid, old-school business. We spend our days managing orders and talking to suppliers. Sometimes the museum tourists get lost and wander into our shop thinking it’s an exhibit, which always gives us a bit of a laugh. The work is mostly routine. We handle a lot of paperwork because of the nature of the chemicals. We try to be careful with everything. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we use some extra lamps over the main desk. We know the neighbors well, and we often share tea from the guy across the street. It’s a quiet kind of existence despite being in a busy Peth. We don’t do any advertising. People just know we are here. We open the doors at ten and stay until the sun goes down. It’s just how we’ve always done it. We’ll probably be here for a long time yet.
