We’ve been here at 94 B/2 Rasta Peth for quite a long time now. The Ami Mansion building is an old one, and everyone around the neighborhood knows where it is. If you walk down the lane, you can usually smell the chemicals before you even see our door. It’s just how things are in this trade. My desk is tucked in the corner behind stacks of files and some old samples we haven't touched in years. Most days it’s just us handling orders and making sure the containers are packed right so nothing leaks during transport. Rasta Peth gets really crowded in the afternoons, especially with the local traffic, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early in the morning. It’s not a fancy setup. There is an old ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise every time it turns, but we’re used to it. People stop by to ask for specific things, and if we don't have it on the shelf, we usually know who does. We keep things moving, even when the power goes out or the rain makes the street muddy. It’s a busy life here in the mansion. We’ve seen the shops around us change hands many times, but Sharda Chemicals just stays put. We just keep our heads down and get the work done without much fuss.
