Innovative Designs is tucked away in Vasudev Niwas over in Santosh Nagar. We are pretty close to the railway station, so you can always hear the trains pulling in and the announcements on the speakers throughout the day. It’s a small office, nothing too fancy or modern. I started it because I liked drawing things out and seeing how they might look in real life. The walls are covered with sketches and old blueprints that I never quite got around to throwing away. My desk is usually a mess of pencils, long rulers, and a laptop that’s seen better days. People come in when they want a plan for a small house or maybe some interior work for their flat. I don't have a receptionist, so if the door is locked, I’m probably out at a building site or grabbing some tea from the stall nearby. It’s a quiet way to work, even with the train noise. I like the neighborhood because it’s got a lot of character and real people. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to ask for advice on a small renovation or a leak. I don’t use any big marketing tricks or fancy ads. Word just gets around from one person to another. It’s just me and sometimes a helper trying to get the lines straight on the page. I’ve lived in this area for years, so it felt right to set up the office here. It’s just a practical space for a practical job.
