Being on the Outer Ring Road near Sinhagad Road means there is a lot of dust and a lot of noise from the cars passing by all day. Our shop gets a bit of that road grime on the windows, so someone is usually out there with a rag every morning trying to keep things looking decent. Inside, the shop is filled with bags of every size you can think of, from the small ones for carrying lunch to the big heavy ones for travel. We spend a lot of our time rearranging the stock because it feels like we’re always running out of room. The light inside is a bit dim toward the back, so we have to use a flashlight sometimes to find a specific color someone asked for. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we usually know where everything is if you give us a minute to look. Most of the people who stop in are just passing through on their way somewhere else, but we have a few locals who come in just to see what’s new. We sit on plastic stools near the counter and drink tea while we wait for the rush to start. It’s a simple life and the work isn't too complicated, which suits us just fine. We just keep the door open and hope for a bit of a breeze to come through when the afternoon heat gets to be too much.
