Reichhold Incorporation

Down here at F 38 in the Ranjangaon MIDC, the day starts before the sun is even up for most people. Being out in the industrial area of Pune means there is always a bit of a commute, but you get used to the road after a while. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space with a lot of heavy doors and concrete floors. Inside Reichhold Incorporation, the air usually smells a bit like dust and machinery. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the different sections. It can get pretty loud when all the equipment is running at once, so we've learned to talk over the hum. Most of us have been working here together for a few years now, so we know each other's habits pretty well. We have a small break area where we sit and eat lunch brought from home. It's not a fancy corporate environment with air conditioning in every corner. It's a place where work is actually happening. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generators to kick in, which gives us a minute to breathe. The Ranjangaon area is mostly factories and warehouses, so there isn't much to do nearby except work. We just make sure to get the job done without making a big fuss about it. It’s a steady rhythm that keeps us going every day.
