Ramesh Kasat & Company

You have to walk up to the 3rd floor to find us. Ramesh Kasat & Company is tucked away here in Market Yard 41407. It’s a bit of a climb, especially when you’re carrying things, but you get used to it. Downstairs is chaos with the trucks and the loaders, but up here it’s a bit different. We deal with a lot of papers and ledgers. Sometimes the lift isn't working, and everyone complains about the stairs. The office isn't anything special. We have desks that have been here for years and chairs that creak when you sit down. Most of our day is spent talking to people or checking lists. We look out the window and see the tops of the trucks moving through the yard. It’s a wholesale environment, so everything is done in bulk. We don't really have time for small talk, but we try to be decent to everyone who comes through the door. The air gets a bit stuffy in the afternoon, so we leave the door open to get a breeze from the hallway. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The walls are covered in old calendars and notes pinned up with tape. It’s a working office. We focus on the numbers and making sure the orders are correct. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. Market Yard is our home, even if we are three floors up.
