R. M. Dhariwal Huf

The office is located in Dealing Chambers on J.M. Road, which is a very busy part of town. R. M. Dhariwal Huf has been operating from this spot for quite some time now. It’s an old-fashioned setup with heavy wooden desks and stacks of ledgers that go back years. Because it is a Hindu Undivided Family business, there is a certain way we do things that hasn't changed much over the decades. You can hear the constant noise of rickshaws and buses from the street outside, but once you close the door, it gets much quieter. We have a lot of regulars who drop by just to say hello or settle some old accounts. There’s no fancy lobby or receptionist; you just walk in and find someone at a desk. We spend a lot of time on paperwork and making sure the records are kept straight. The air conditioner is a bit noisy, but we need it during the Pune summers. It feels more like a family home than a corporate office sometimes. We share snacks in the afternoon and talk about the news. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to keep the family interests running smoothly. It’s a lot of tradition mixed with daily chores. Most of the furniture has been here longer than some of the employees. It’s a comfortable, predictable place to be every day and we like it that way.
