Omkar Appliances

Omkar Appliances is located in the Bibwewadi area. We are right near the Deol Hotel at number 633. The hotel is a major landmark, so that is usually how we explain our location to people. The shop itself is full of all kinds of household things like mixers, fans, and gas stoves. It is a bit of a maze with boxes stacked up high. We do a lot of repair work here in the shop. You will often see one of us with a tool in hand, taking an appliance apart on the counter to see what is wrong with it. It gets pretty noisy because of the traffic on the main road and the sound of us testing the motors. We do not have a fancy showroom with bright lights. It is just a functional space where we fix things and sell new parts. The floor is just plain concrete and the shelves are old metal ones we have had for years. People from all over the neighborhood come in when their kitchen appliances break down. We know many of them by name after all this time. It is a bit dusty because the road is so close, but we try to keep things as clean as we can. We usually eat our lunch in the small room at the back where it is a bit quieter. There is not much drama here, just steady work on the appliances.
