New Modi Store

New Modi Store is situated in the Gota Co op Industrial Estate, specifically at Gota 618 in the Budhwar Peth area. We aren't your typical retail shop; we are more of a supply store for the industrial units around here. The shelves are filled with hardware, tools, and daily essentials that workers might need during their shifts. It’s a functional space with concrete floors and high ceilings. We've been here since the estate was a bit quieter than it is now. Every morning we open up and sweep the front before the trucks start arriving with deliveries. We know most of the people who work in the neighboring units by their first names. They stop by for a quick chat or to pick up something they ran out of like screws or tape. We keep a tab for a few of the regular businesses nearby because it's easier that way for everyone. It’s a simple way of doing things. The inventory changes depending on what’s in demand, but we always have the basics in stock. It gets a bit dusty because of all the construction and movement in the industrial estate, but we don't mind it much. We aren't looking to become a big chain or anything. We just like running our shop and helping out the local workers. It’s a honest living and we’ve been at it for a long time now in this same corner of Gota. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings us snacks.
