Neo Couture

Neo Couture is tucked away in Hirkani Colony at number 927, which is part of Shivaji Nagar. It’s a quiet enough spot until the sewing machines start up. We have been here for a good while, working with fabrics and patterns every day. There is usually thread and scraps of cloth all over the floor by noon. We don’t have a big fancy showroom like some of the places in the city center. It’s more of a workshop where the actual making happens. We have a few tailors who have been with us for years, and they know exactly how to handle different types of material. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of orders coming in at once, especially during the wedding season. We spend a lot of time measuring and cutting, and there is always a teapot on the stove somewhere. We don't really do much advertising; people just seem to find us by word of mouth in the neighborhood. It’s a bit of a messy place, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making clothes by hand. We like the light in this building in the mornings, it helps with the fine stitching. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever is on the bench that day. It's a simple life here in Shivaji Nagar, just focused on getting the fit right and finishing the garments before the sun goes down.
