Microtech Laboratory

Our lab is situated on the Wakdewadi Pipe Line Road in the Machohalli area. It is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the busy city center, which is nice for the kind of work we do every day. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The building is very plain on the outside. We spend most of our hours inside with the lights on, looking at equipment and monitors. We do various types of testing and sample analysis. It is not the most exciting work to talk about, but it is necessary for the projects we handle. The lab has a lot of benches and glass containers stacked up. We have to keep things fairly clean inside, though the outside road gets very dusty when the wind picks up. There is a small area where we keep the records and a couple of old desks for the paperwork. We usually start the day by checking the machines and making sure everything is running right. People bring in samples and we give them the data they need after a few days. Machohalli has its own slow pace, and we just fit into that routine. Sometimes the electricity flickers during the storms, so we have a backup system to keep the tests from failing. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know the daily routines. It is a regular place.
