If you head down Sinhagad Road, you’ll find where we run Manas Water Suppliers. We don’t have one of those big glass buildings. Our operation is more about the logistics of moving water from one place to another. It’s a busy road, as anyone who lives around here can tell you, and our trucks are always coming and going. The office is mostly where we handle the scheduling and take calls from people who need water delivered because their tanks are dry or the local supply is acting up. It gets pretty dusty out here with all the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is. We’ve got a small crew of drivers who know the shortcuts around the neighborhood to avoid the worst of the Sinhagad Road traffic jams. There’s always a bit of mud on the floor and the sound of engines in the background. We aren't trying to be a fancy service. We just know that when people need water, they need it right away. My uncle started this and now a few of us keep it going. We don’t have a glossy brochure. We just have a whiteboard with a list of names and addresses that needs to be cleared by the end of the day. It’s hard work, but it feels good to see the trucks heading out every morning. Usually, we end the day pretty tired but we’re back at it again the next sunrise.
