Jain Marble Murti Bhandar

We have been working out of our shop at the Marble Market in Ambegaov Bk for a good while now. It is right there on the Mumbai Bypass Highway, tucked just behind the Pune Urban Bank Katraj. If you come by, you will likely see us covered in white dust because there is always some marble being cut or polished. We focus on making murtis, and it is a slow process that requires a lot of sitting on the floor with our tools. The highway noise is pretty constant, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We do not have a fancy showroom with glass cases or anything like that. It is just a workspace where the stone gets transformed into something else. Sometimes a piece takes much longer than we expected because the stone has its own mind. We keep various sizes of marble blocks around the yard. Most people find us just by driving past and seeing the statues lined up outside. It is a family thing, and we have been doing this since I was a young boy. We do not do much in the way of advertising or big talk. We just show up, pick up the hammer, and get to work on whatever order is next. The shop stays open until the sun goes down, and sometimes later if we have a deadline to meet for a local temple.
