Idol Creations

We are based out of Gate No- 398 in Awhalwadi, which is just near the Vithai Warehouse. If you are driving down the Wagholi to Manjri road, you’ve probably passed us without noticing. It is a bit of a trek from the main Pune city, but we like being out here where there is more space. Our place, Idol Creations, is mostly a big work shed where we keep all our materials and finished pieces. The area around Wagholi has changed a lot with all the new warehouses coming up, but it still feels a bit rural in spots. We spend our days mostly working with our hands, making different idols and pieces. It gets quite hot in the afternoons under the tin roof, so we usually start early. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just come into the workspace and look at whatever is on the floor. It is a bit messy with clay or plaster or whatever we are using that week. We have a small crew and we’ve all been together for years. Most of our stuff goes out to the local markets or people who drive out here specifically to find us. We don't do much advertising, we just rely on people seeing our work and telling their friends. It is quiet out here except for the trucks going to the warehouse next door. We like the pace of it.
