Gawade Bricks

Gawade Bricks is located right at the Gawde Plot near Dange Chowk. If you are heading through Thergaon, you might have seen us. We operate out of Jayshree Bungalow on Survey No.19/1/2. It is a family thing, really. The land has been used for this for a long time. We spend most of our mornings looking at the weather because if it rains, everything slows down. Making bricks isn't glamorous work. You have to deal with mud and fire and a lot of waiting around for things to dry properly. We don't have a marketing team or someone to take professional photos of the yard. It’s just a yard full of stacks of bricks and the smell of the kiln. Sometimes the trucks get stuck if the ground is soft, and we all have to go out and help push or dig them out. It’s just how things are at the plot. Dange Chowk has changed a lot over the years with new buildings popping up everywhere, but we are still here doing the same thing we always did. People come by, they ask about the price, they look at the quality, and we talk. There is no script. We just tell them what we have ready to go. It’s a basic life, but it keeps us busy and the village keeps growing. There is always something that needs fixing or moving around the yard before the day ends.
