Morya Wood Furnitures

Our workshop, Morya Wood Furnitures, is situated out on Hadapsar Saswad Road, right near the Bhekrai Kaman. If you are looking for us, we are tucked in behind the Maharashtra Bakery in the Fursungi area. It is usually quite dusty inside because someone is always sawing or sanding down a piece of timber. We make all kinds of things like wooden cupboards, bed frames, and simple chairs. The smell of cut wood and glue is something you just get used to after working here for a few days. We don't have a large staff, just a couple of guys who know how to handle a hammer and a plane. The shop is a bit messy with piles of sawdust and scraps of wood in the corners, but we know where everything is. Fursungi has grown a lot lately, so there are always new people stopping by to ask about getting a table made for their new flats. We work mostly with our hands and a few old machines that have been with us for years. It is loud when the saws are running, so we often have to shout to hear each other. We take the wood as it comes and try to turn it into something solid that will last. It is not a fancy showroom, just a place where work gets done every day until the sun goes down.
