If you head down to the M.I.D.C. area in Bhosari, Pune, you’ll find us at J-152. That’s where Elkay Chemicals is based. It’s an industrial part of town, so it gets pretty noisy with all the trucks and machines around. Our building is a standard setup for a chemical place. We spend our days working on different formulations and checking containers. It’s not the kind of job where you sit still much. Pune weather can be a bit much in the summer, especially in an industrial shed, but we have some fans going. Most of us have been working here a long time. We know the neighbors at the other units too. We focus on the work, mostly getting chemicals ready for whatever the customers need next. It’s a lot of measuring and mixing. We don’t really do big meetings or fancy presentations here. We just show up, do the shifts, and head home. The gates open at eight usually. You’ll see the sign out front, though it might need a bit of a wash after the last rain. It’s just a regular workplace where people put in their hours. We take our breaks when we can. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. It’s simple, honest work in a busy part of Pune. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just trying to do our jobs right and get things shipped out on time.
