Elite Interiors

Down at Dhanakawadi 37/13, you will find Elite Interiors. We have been in this little space for a while now. It’s not the easiest address to find if you aren't looking closely, but we like it that way. The room is filled with the smell of paper and sometimes sawdust if we’ve been working on a model. There is a big window that looks out onto the street, and we often find ourselves distracted watching the world go by. We aren't a big corporate team with suits and ties. Most days it’s just us in jeans, drinking coffee and arguing about where a socket should go in a kitchen. The walls are covered in notes written directly on the plaster because we keep losing our notebooks. It is a bit chaotic, but it works for how we think. 37/13 is a lucky spot for us, I think. We have a lot of samples of wood and stone tucked under the desks. Sometimes it takes us twenty minutes just to find the right piece of marble we showed someone last week. Life here is mostly about those small details. We talk to the local guys who do the actual building more than anyone else. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the measurements are right. If the measurement is wrong, nothing else matters, so we check them twice. That is pretty much our life in Dhanakawadi, just getting through the pile of drawings on the desk.
