Drdo Stipend

We are tucked away in the Physics building at the Defence Institute of Advanced in Pune. Specifically, you will find us at Leoc-16. It is a bit of a walk from the main gate, but most people know the way by now. We handle the stipend work for the researchers and students here. The office is pretty small and we have files stacked up on almost every surface. It is not the most modern looking place, but it serves its purpose. We spend our days checking through names and numbers to make sure everyone gets what they are supposed to. Sometimes the heat in Pune-25 gets a bit much, so we have the fans going all day. There is usually a bit of a queue on Monday mornings. We don't have much of a waiting area, so people just stand in the hallway and chat. It's a regular administrative office where we try to keep things moving along. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the routine. We have a small kettle for tea in the corner. If the system is down, we just wait it out and talk about the weather or local news. It’s just how things go in a place like this. We are just here to do the paperwork and keep the records straight for the physics department. It is not exciting work but it is necessary for the people working on their research.
