Deccan Environmental Consultants is located over at Parvati Mandar Tulshi, in the Baugwale Colony. It’s a relatively quiet spot compared to the main city center, which is something we appreciate. Parvati is a nice area with a lot of history, and being in Baugwale Colony feels more like being in a neighborhood than a business district. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a place where we gather our notes and look at environmental data. We spend a lot of time out in the field, so the office is mostly for catching up on things. Sometimes the colony is very peaceful, and you can hear the birds, which is a nice change from the traffic. We don't have a big receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, if you come by, you’ll just see one or two of us at our desks surrounded by stacks of paper and maps. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy presentations. We just look at the land and the water and try to figure out the best way to handle things. It’s slow, careful work. We’ve lived in this city a long time and we care about how it’s changing. Being based in Parvati Mandar Tulshi keeps us grounded. It reminds us that there’s a real community around the work we do. We just take it one day at a time here.
