Daily Needs Bags

Our shop is located in Thergaon at No. 142 A Ashok Society. It is right across the road from the Akshaya Nursing Home. We make all kinds of bags that people need for their everyday life, like for carrying groceries or going to the market. Daily Needs Bags is a small operation, and most days you will hear the sound of the sewing machines running from early morning. The area around Kalewadi Phata is always crowded with traffic, so there is quite a bit of noise and dust coming in from the street. We started this work because we saw that people needed something sturdy that wouldn't break easily. We don’t have a big showroom or a place to sit down. It is mostly just a workshop where we get the orders done. The floors are often covered in scraps of material and thread that we have to sweep up later. Sometimes the electricity goes off, and we have to sit and wait for it to come back before we can finish the work. My brother helps me with most of the heavy lifting. We do not use any fancy computers, we just keep track of everything in a simple ledger book. It is a very basic way of doing things, but it works for us.
