Bharat Constructions

Bharat Constructions is run out of our office at number two-zero-two on Sinhgad Road in Vidyanagar. It’s a place filled with rolled-up blueprints, dusty site boots in the corner, and a lot of half-finished coffee cups. We spend half our time here at the desk and the other half out at different sites checking on how the walls are coming up. Dealing with sand, bricks, and cement suppliers is a daily task that takes up most of our phone calls. The traffic on Sinhgad Road can be a nightmare, so we usually try to get our site visits done early before the roads get blocked. Sometimes the paperwork for a new project gets piled high and we have to spend the whole weekend just sorting through files and permits. It is not always pretty or organized, especially when a machine breaks down or a worker doesn't show up. We have a small table where we sit with clients to show them drawings, and the chairs are a bit old now. The walls have some marks from where we pinned up big maps of the area. We’ve been working in this part of town for a while and know the local soil and weather pretty well. It’s hard work and your hands stay dirty most of the week, but seeing a structure actually stand up on a piece of empty land makes it worth the trouble. We just take it one day at a time.
