Our place, B U Bhandari Automotive Pvt Ltd, is right on the Chinchwad Shampura Main Road. We are directly across from the Sayaji Hotel, so it’s pretty easy to find us if you’re looking. The address is 142. It’s a large spot because we have a lot of cars coming in and out all the time for different reasons. The main road is always loud with horns and people rushing to get somewhere. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of tools and engines. We have a crew that’s been here for a good while, and we all just know our roles. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits every day; we’re usually a bit greasy or covered in dust by noon. The showroom part is a bit cleaner, of course, but the real heart of the place is in the back. We see a lot of the same faces coming back over the years, which is nice. It makes the days go by faster when you can have a quick chat with a regular. Sometimes we run out of coffee or the internet goes down, and we just have to figure it out as we go.
