Ankur Electronics is over in Model Colony, a place where most people know each other. Our shop has been a part of this street for quite some time now. It’s one of those local spots where the shelves are packed with all sorts of gadgets, wires, and spare parts that we’ve collected over the years. We spend our mornings opening up the metal shutters and dusting off the glass counters. Most of the day involves sitting behind the counter, testing batteries, or helping someone find the right cable for their old television set. It’s not a high-tech showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. Instead, it’s a bit cramped and the lighting is a little dim, but it feels like home to us. We talk to the people from the colony all day long. Sometimes they come in just to chat about the news or the weather while we look at a broken remote control. We don't use any complicated computer systems to run things here. We just keep a simple notebook for the accounts and try to remember everyone's face. When the monsoon hits, the shop gets a bit damp, but we just move the cardboard boxes and keep going. It’s a small business, run by real people who live right around the corner. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the electronics in the neighborhood stay working for as long as possible.
