Being on North Main Road means there is always something happening outside the window. We’ve got cafes on one side and old houses on the other. Our office isn't anything spectacular to look at, just a functional space where we get our advisory work done. We chose this spot because it’s easy for people to find, even if parking can be a bit of a nightmare during the busy hours. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our computers. We deal with a lot of numbers and advice, which can get a bit heavy by Tuesday afternoon. We don’t use a lot of fancy jargon when we talk to people; we just tell them how it is based on what we see. The name Amethyst was just something we liked when we started. We take our breaks at the local spots nearby, usually just grabbing a quick bite before heading back to the desks. The office has that worn-in feel where you know exactly which drawer sticks and which chair squeaks when you sit down. It’s a real place where real work happens every day. We aren't interested in being the biggest firm in town, just in doing a decent job for whoever walks in. We keep our coffee mugs at our desks and the AC on medium.
