You can find us on the first floor of Umed Bhavan on Bajirao Road. We are quite close to the Canara Bank, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us in all that traffic. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up some narrow stairs, but it’s a bit quieter up here than on the street level. Our space is filled with all kinds of materials. We have frames leaning against the walls, jars of brushes, and stacks of paper and canvas everywhere. It’s more of a workshop than a gallery. There’s always the smell of glue or paint in the air. We do a lot of custom work for people who bring in their photos or paintings to be mounted. It’s a bit messy, but that is how we work best. There are bits of wood shavings on the floor and scraps of mat board in the corners. We’ve got a big wooden table where most of the assembly happens. It’s been stained with ink and paint over the years, which gives it some character. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. People come to us because we’ve been on Bajirao Road for a long time and they trust us with their things. We just take it one project at a time and do what needs doing. (245 words)
