Maitri Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

Over at Maitri Engineering Pvt. Ltd., things are usually pretty busy. We are based in Phase-Iv of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Naroda, which is a huge area if you aren't familiar with it. Our unit is C-1/1103. It’s a bit of a trek to get here sometimes with the Naroda traffic, but we’ve been at this location long enough that it feels like home. The workshop is where everything happens. We have a small group of workers who know exactly what needs to be done without me having to say much. There’s a lot of metal clanging and the smell of cutting oil in the air most of the time. We aren’t interested in making things look pretty for visitors; we just want the machines to keep running smoothly. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch or wait for a truck that got delayed somewhere on the highway. We’ve had the same old fans spinning in the ceiling for years, and they do their best to keep the heat down. Dealing with vendors and checking the inventory takes up a lot of the morning. It's not a glamorous job, but there's a certain satisfaction in seeing a pile of finished parts ready to go out the door. We just focus on the task at hand and try to avoid the drama of the bigger corporate world. It's just us doing our engineering work in Naroda, trying to stay ahead of the schedule we set for the week.
