If you walk down No. 769 Junction Road, you will probably hear the sound of metal hitting metal before you see Sudha Engineering. That’s just how it is here. We spend most of our day covered in a bit of oil or dust from the machines. The floor is concrete and has some stains that won't ever come out, no matter how much we scrub. We have a few lathes and some heavy tools that we’ve looked after for a long time. It can get pretty hot in the summer, especially when all the equipment is running at once. We usually leave the big front doors wide open to catch whatever breeze comes off Junction Road. It’s not a quiet job, and your ears might ring a bit at the end of the shift. We get all kinds of parts brought in that need fixing or making from scratch. Sometimes it’s a simple job that takes ten minutes, and other times we are scratching our heads over a drawing for hours. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk over the workbench or standing by the entrance. It’s honest work that keeps your hands busy. My brother usually handles the measurements while I do the cutting. We keep a small radio in the corner, but you can barely hear it over the grinders. It’s just a regular workshop doing what needs to be done every day.
