Omm Engineering Works

We are Omm Engineering Works, located at No.20 on Odiampet Road in Thiruvalluvar Nagar. We are in the Kanuvapet area of Villianur, right here in Puducherry. It’s a small shop where we do a lot of manual engineering work. The street outside is usually busy with local traffic and people heading into town. Our workshop is open to the front, so we get a lot of the outside air, which is good when it’s humid. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that we use every day. Most of the jobs we take are for local people or small businesses nearby who need something custom made. It’s a bit messy inside with metal scraps and tools lying on the workbenches. We don’t have a computer system to track things; we just write it down in a notebook. The team is just a few of us who have been doing this kind of work since we were young. We have our tea breaks together under the shade when the sun is too much. It’s a simple life, working with our hands and making sure the pieces fit right. We don’t have a website or any marketing stuff. People just know our sign on Odiampet Road. We just try to be honest with our work and get things finished when we say we will. It’s not a big company, just a local engineering shop doing its bit in the neighborhood for years.
