Chintamani Traders

If you are coming down Gingee Road in Villupuram, you will see the M S Mahal Complex right across from Jayanthira School. That is where we set up Chintamani Traders. It is a handy spot because everyone knows the school, so people don’t get lost trying to find our shop. Our space is tucked into number 47/4. Most mornings, we are busy moving boxes around and checking what came in on the trucks. The school kids make a lot of noise when they get out in the afternoon, which usually tells us it is almost time to start winding down for the day. It gets pretty dusty inside here with all the inventory, but we try to keep it organized enough so we can find what a customer is looking for without digging too long. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a regular trading shop with shelves and a counter where we do the billing. Sometimes the heat in Villupuram gets to be a bit much, so we keep the fans running all day long. We have a few regulars who stop by just to chat for a minute before they go about their business. It is a simple way to spend the day, really. We make sure the orders are filled and the paperwork is tucked away in the drawers before we close the shutters. It is just honest work in a busy part of town.
