Arikamedu Spices

Our place is right there at 932 on the Cuddalore Main Road in Ariyankuppam. If you’ve been around this part of town, you know it gets pretty busy with all the vehicles heading out. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing our thing with spices. It’s mostly about getting the stocks in, checking the quality, and making sure everything is stored right. The shop usually smells like a mix of dried chilies and coriander seeds. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or big signs. It is just a regular shop where we spend most of our day. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool before the sun really hits the main road. Most of our time goes into talking to people who stop by and moving bags around. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk inside. We keep things pretty simple here. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s just us, the spices, and the customers from around the neighborhood. We try to keep the shelves tidy, but on busy days, things get a bit messy. That’s just how it goes when you’re working with bulk goods. People know us by name, and we know most of the regulars too. It’s a quiet life in some ways, even with all the noise from the road. We just keep doing what we do every day.
