Arhandicraft

It gets pretty busy here on Dupuy Street. If you come by number 22, you’ll see what I mean. We’ve got Arhandicraft set up here, and there’s always something lying around on the floor—scraps of wood, bits of fabric, and stacks of boxes waiting to go somewhere. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like those places downtown. Mostly, it’s just us doing the work every day. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice, sometimes he forgets. The front door sticks a little bit when the weather gets humid, so you have to give it a good shove. People stop by and ask what we’re making, and usually, it’s just whatever is on the bench that morning. There isn’t a big sign out front, just the address and the name. We spend a lot of time just moving things from one corner to another to make space for the new stuff coming in. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly, but it’s how we keep things moving. You can hear the traffic from the main road if the windows are open, but we usually keep them shut to keep the dust off the finished pieces. The lights flicker if we run too many machines at once, but we’ve learned which switches not to flip together. It’s just how it goes here. Nothing too complicated, just a lot of handwork and some long afternoons. Every day feels a bit different depending on what order came in last night.
