M.I. Handicrafts

M.I. Handicrafts is located at number 17 on Jeevanandam Street. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, tucked away a bit from the main noise. We spend most of our hours working with our hands here. The space is filled with tools, scraps of material, and whatever project we are currently finishing up. It’s not the kind of place that looks like a showroom. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. There’s usually dust on the tables and bits of thread or shavings on the floor by the end of the afternoon. We don’t mind it much because it shows we’ve been busy. We’ve been at this address for a long time and the neighbors all know what we do. Sometimes people just pop their heads in to see what’s being worked on that day. It’s a small team of us, and we’ve all been doing this sort of work for years. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. Most of our work comes from people who heard about us from someone else or just happened to walk past the door on Jeevanandam Street. The building is old but it stays cool enough in the summer, which is good when you’re working hard. We just keep doing what we know how to do, one piece at a time, until the day is over and we head home.
