Krr Bricks Industries

Krr Bricks Industries is located out on Yerraguntla Road in Potladutti. We are pretty easy to find because we’re right near the Sivalayam temple. It’s a quiet spot for the most part, except for when the trucks are pulling in to load up. The area around Potladutti is mostly open land, which gives us plenty of space for the brick kilns and the drying racks. We spend a lot of time outdoors, so we’re always at the mercy of the weather. If it rains, we have to scramble to cover things up, and if it’s too hot, we have to take more breaks in the shade of the trees near the temple. It’s a very physical way to make a living. We don't have much of an office, just a small shed where we keep the records and a few chairs for when people stop by to chat. Most of the guys working here live nearby, so it feels like a neighborhood effort. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just know we’re here on the Yerraguntla Road. We’ve been through a lot of seasons at this location, and the routine doesn't change much from year to year. It’s about digging the clay, molding the bricks, and waiting for them to fire and cool. It’s slow work that takes a lot of patience, but it’s what we’ve always done here in Potladutti. We just keep our heads down and work until the sun goes down.
