You’ll find us on the second floor at 5 Elgin Road. It’s in the heart of Civil Lines, so there’s always something happening downstairs on the street. Climbing those stairs every day keeps us moving, I guess. The building is older, but it has that solid feel to it. From the windows, you can look out and see the trees and the cars passing by. We don’t have an elevator, so everyone gets a bit of a workout. The space we have is mostly just classrooms filled with desks. We try to keep the noise from the street out, but Elgin Road is never really silent. It’s mostly students coming in after school hours. We spend a lot of time sorting out notes and making sure the lights are all working. Sometimes the chai wala from around the corner brings up tea for the staff in the evenings. It’s a regular life here. We aren't trying to be some big, polished academy. It’s just Rishi Institution, a place where people sit down and read. We get a lot of dust because of the open windows, so there's always someone wiping down the tables before the next batch arrives. It’s a bit cramped when everyone shows up at once, but we make it work. Most people know the building by now. We’ve been here long enough that it feels like home to us.
