Prince Namkeen

At Prince Namkeen, we operate out of House No-1022 in the Kalibari area of Mutthiganj. We are located quite close to Arya Kanya Degree College, so there are always students and people walking by our street. This is mostly a residential neighborhood, and we have our setup right here where we make various kinds of snacks. You can usually smell the spices and the frying long before you see the house. It’s a family-style operation, really. We spend most of our hours preparing the dough, frying the namkeen, and then packing it into bags. The kitchen area gets very hot, especially during the peak of the day. We have bags of flour and containers of oil stacked in the corners because space is a bit tight. When it’s festival season, things get really hectic and we are working almost around the clock to keep up with what people want to buy. We don't have a big storefront with lights; it’s more of a local production spot. We sell to nearby shops and sometimes directly to people who stop by the house. The floors are usually covered in a bit of flour, and there’s always a lot of washing up to do at the end of the day. It’s hard work, but we’ve been making these snacks for years now and we just keep at it. We focus on the recipes we know and making sure every batch tastes right.
