Om Shanti Sweets

Om Shanti Sweets is located at 20b/1, Hashimpur Road in the Balson area of Allahabad. You can find us right in front of the Kamala Nehru Hospital at Balson. Being near a big hospital means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are visiting patients, and some just live in the neighborhood. We make all kinds of traditional sweets and snacks. We start our work very early in the morning when the city is still quiet. We believe in using fresh milk and sugar, the way it has always been done. Our shop is not very big, and it gets quite busy in the evenings when people are heading home and want to take something sweet for their families. We have been here for a long time, so many people in Allahabad know our face. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy packaging. We just put the sweets in simple boxes and hand them over. Sometimes we talk to the regulars about their day while we pack their orders. The floor might have a bit of flour on it sometimes because we are constantly making things in the back. It is a simple life running a sweet shop. We are just glad that people keep coming back to see what we have made fresh that day. It is hard work staying on our feet all day, but seeing a child smile at a piece of barfi makes it worth it for us.
