J Puneet Stores is located at 15-B, Elgin Rd, in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad. This part of the city feels a bit different, maybe a bit more spread out than the old markets. We have our shop in a spot that’s easy to reach for people living nearby. We carry a variety of general items that people use in their houses every day. The shelves are packed with everything from toothbrushes to cooking spices. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure everything looks decent. It isn't a massive place, so we have to be careful about how we stack the boxes so they don't fall over. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the road for a bit, and the neighbors complain, but we try to move fast. We don't use a computer for our bills; we just write them out by hand if someone really needs one. Most people just pay the amount and leave. The counter is made of dark wood and has a few scratches from years of use. We see a lot of people who work in the nearby offices coming in for a quick snack or a pack of cigarettes. We just do our work and keep the shop tidy. It’s a regular job for us, and we like being part of the neighborhood here on Elgin Road.
