Salet Seafoods Pvt. Ltd is located in the Naranji Mulji Chhatralaya Building on Sudama Road. It’s an old building with a lot of character. We’ve been here long enough that the walls seem to know us. Working in seafood means you have to be ready for anything. This is especially true when the fishing season is in full swing. Our office isn't much to look at. It is just some sturdy tables and a few computers that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time talking to the suppliers down by the water. Then we try to find the best way to get everything shipped out before it loses its freshness. Sudama Road is always a bit chaotic, and finding a place to park near the building is a daily struggle that we all complain about over lunch. We have a small crew. They are mostly local guys who grew up around here and know the difference between a good catch and a mediocre one. There isn’t a lot of hierarchy here. Whoever is closest to the ringing phone picks it up. We have our fair share of long days where we’re still staring at invoices late into the evening. That is just the nature of the trade. We just aim to do a decent job and keep the business steady so everyone can go home to their families at the end of the day without any major headaches.
