Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College

Down in Pollachi, right on S.M.J Lane, you'll find our college. It's a busy place with students coming and going all the time. Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College has been around for a bit now, and we’re just part of the local scene here in Tamil Nadu. The mornings are usually the loudest when everyone is arriving for their first class. We have teachers who have been with us for years and students who are just trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives. It's a lot of responsibility keeping a place like this running day in and day out. We spend a lot of time in the classrooms and walking the halls. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy and the heat makes everyone a little tired in the afternoons, but that’s just how it goes here in this part of India. We aren't a giant university in some big city, we're just a local college trying to help people learn something useful. The campus isn't perfect, there’s always a door that squeaks or a desk that needs fixing. We try to keep the place looking decent, though. Being at 11/3 makes us easy to find if you're in the neighborhood. We see a lot of faces pass through these doors over the years. Some stay in touch, some don’t. It’s just the way it is. We keep the doors open and focus on the daily schedule. It's a lot of work but it's worth it.
