Annur is a busy place these days, especially out here on Aathy Main Road. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, right where the traffic picks up in the mornings. Maya School isn't a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a regular building where we spend most of our daylight hours. You can hear the buses shifting gears outside while the kids are trying to focus on their notebooks. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into the front office, so we’re always wiping down the desks. Most of us live nearby, so we walk in or take a quick scooter ride through the back lanes to avoid the main junction mess. The gate is a bit heavy and squeaks when the wind catches it, but it does the job. We have some trees out back that give a bit of shade during the lunch break, which is nice when the sun gets really hot in the afternoons. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance, painting the walls every few years, and making sure the fans are actually spinning. People around here know where we are because of the big yellow sign near the turn. We don't do much fancy stuff, just keep the doors open and make sure the benches are straight. It gets loud when the bell rings at four, and everyone rushes out toward the main road to find their parents or catch the bus home.
