If you ever find yourself on Raja Mill Road in Pollachi, you’ll likely see our place. We are right in the heart of where all the trading happens. Pollachi is famous for its markets, and being on this road means we are right in the thick of it. The sound of lorries loading and unloading is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. We handle a lot of different goods, and the warehouse space we have is always being rearranged to make room for new arrivals. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains—and it rains a lot here—you can’t hear yourself think. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the books and take calls. Most of the people who work here have been with us for years, so we all know the routine without having to talk about it much. We deal with a lot of coconut-related products because that's what the area is known for. It’s a dusty, busy, and sometimes sweaty job, but it’s what we know. There isn't any fancy lobby or receptionist, just us and the goods we move every day. You can smell the earth and the produce all around the street. It’s a real working-class area and we fit right in with the other traders.
