Sakthi Coir Exports

Working out of Unit No. 9/2 in the Industrial Estate on Udumalpet Road means dealing with a fair bit of dust and noise every day. Sakthi Coir Exports is right in the middle of all the industrial action. You can hear the machines from the neighboring units hum all afternoon. Our spot is basically a warehouse with a small corner partitioned off for the desk work. Coir is messy stuff, so we don't bother wearing nice clothes to the office. You’re likely to find bits of coconut fiber on the floor no matter how many times we sweep it up. The trucks come in and out off the main road, and loading them up takes a good deal of muscle and coordination. It’s hot work under the metal roof, especially when the breeze dies down. We keep a big water cooler filled at all times. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy letters. If we need to talk to a customer, we just pick up the phone and tell them what’s available and what the price is today. It’s straightforward. We deal with the raw material and get it ready for shipping. The road outside is always busy with heavy traffic, which makes it easy for the logistics but loud for the ears. We’ve been at this unit for a while now and we know the routine well enough to keep things moving.
