Coco Flora

Our place is out in Karappadi, and if you want to send us a letter, it goes through the Poosaraipatti post office. Coco Flora is right in the middle of all the greenery. It is mostly coconut trees and small dirt paths around here. We work with what the trees give us. Most of our days are spent outside in the sun or under the shade of the palms. We process the husks and look after the plants. It isn't a high-tech job. We use our hands and a few simple machines to get the fiber ready. The air around Karappadi is usually quiet, except for the birds and the sound of the wind in the trees. We don't have a big staff, just a few families from Poosaraipatti who have been working with us for years. We all know the routine. In the mornings, we check the nursery and see how the new plants are doing. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People find us because they know we do honest work with the soil. Sometimes the tractor breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it, but that is just life on a farm. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. We just have a small room where we keep the records and take our breaks. It is a good way to live, being close to the land and away from the noise.
