Sri Ayyappan Cottage Industries

Sri Ayyappan Cottage Industries is located at 2, Vellayammal Lay-Out. We’re right there on Uthukkadu Road. It’s a relatively quiet spot compared to some of the bigger cities around here. We started this as a very small thing years ago and it has mostly stayed that way, which is how we like it. It’s a cottage industry, so you shouldn't expect to see a massive factory filled with robots. It’s mostly handwork and using some very simple tools. The layout where we are is quite peaceful, consisting mostly of homes and other small shops. We work regular hours and try our best not to make too much noise for the people living next door. Sometimes the family comes in to help out when things get really busy. We don’t have a big HR department or some CEO walking around in a tie. It’s just us. We make what we can and sell it to the people who need it. Uthukkadu Road is where we’ve always been since the start. We’ve grown a tiny bit over time, maybe added a few more shelves to hold everything, but the heart of the business is still the same. People from the neighborhood drop by just to chat with us sometimes. We don’t have a glossy catalog to hand out. If you want to see what we are making, you just have to come by and take a look. It’s honest work and it keeps us very busy.
