Our office is at No.2/107 on South Street in Veppanthattai Village. It’s a women-run place, which makes the atmosphere a bit different from some other offices. We have a lot of local women who come in to participate in what we’re doing. There is always a lot of chatter and usually someone has brought some snacks to share. We handle the farming business from this little spot on South Street. It’s not a high-tech operation. We use a lot of paper and we keep our records in big binders. We talk to each other a lot to make sure everyone knows what’s going on. Some of us have been farming our own plots for years, and now we’re trying to do the business part together. It’s a learning process for sure. We make mistakes sometimes with the paperwork, but we fix them and move on. The village is small, so everyone knows where we are. We don't need any big signs. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off at the end of the day. It’s about being practical and looking after our families. We are just regular people working hard in Veppanthattai, trying to make things a little better for everyone involved. It’s hard work, but we do it together and that makes the long days much easier to handle.
