Siya Kunwar Couture Llp operates out of Flat A 502 in the Shree Ratan Sharda Sadan. This building is right on the Main Gola Road, which is a pretty active part of the area. Being up on the fifth floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the work in front of us. Gola Road is always moving, with cars and people all day long. Inside our space, it’s a bit different. We have our sewing machines and rolls of fabric tucked into the corners. Since it is a couture business, there is a lot of measuring and cutting happening. It’s not a factory, it’s more of a workshop feel inside a residential-style building. We have to be careful with the space we have. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of orders to finish, but we make it work. The light coming through the windows helps when we are doing detail work. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’re likely to see us right in the middle of a project. We keep our tools handy and our workspace as clean as we can manage. Living and working around Gola Road means everything we need is close by. Siya Kunwar Couture Llp is basically just a group of us trying to make nice things from this flat. It’s a quiet life inside A 502 despite the noise on the street.
